Events like COVID-19 bring out the best and the worst in humans. On any day – at any moment – I have seen myself on either side of this emotion.
These are hard times for the best of us. The media narrative is that only Trump supporters want to reopen, and they are the ones protesting.
It’s silly to think that one’s desire for freedom and economic prosperity is correlated so perfectly with one’s political leanings.

Sometimes, these people have to realize they are making Pres. Trump look bad with their emotional reactions to logical solutions. For the last three years, Trump supporters have used the term “trust the plan.”
That reference to trusting the plan meant to allow the President to work through the problems because he had a blueprint to get to his desired endgame.
Now the supporters have forgotten all about that. They blame Dr. Tony Fauci and the other doctors, but they aren’t honest with themselves. It is POTUS who makes the final decisions, not the doctors. The lockdown(s) were Pres. Trump’s judgment call based on the data and in-depth discussion.
As a surgeon I’m constantly reminded that Nurses are the glue that really hold everything together.

We are going to see more of this as the anger – both real and paid for – as this lockdown goes on.
I understand the anger. I don’t think we can applaud protest when it suits us – and not when it suits us. It is their right to protest but it is also the right of the Nurses to protest also.
The constitution doesn’t guarantee you the right to express yourself without opposition.
