Looking at the low virus infection and death rates in a majority of states in the country, Americans across the nation are taking to the streets and demanding that their states reopen for business, schools, and normal lifestyles. They want this done soon. Democrats want it done, if at all, much much later.
Citizen protests have occurred in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Virginia, Minnesota, and Kentucky. More groups over many other states are also planning public demonstrations to pressure state governments to give up excessive power under virus restrictions and return to normal, but safe, ways of life. They demand an end to the lockdown.
Minnesota: “Minnesota citizens now is the time to demand Governor Walz and our state legislators end this lock down!” from a Facebook event titled “Liberate Minnesota.” It went on, “Minnesota’s economy must be reopened for business or destroying the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of Minnesota citizens and their families may result if we don’t act quickly!”
Pennsylvania: “We will have endured nearly 7 weeks of lock down when May 1st arrives and the end of these restrictions has remained indefinite,” the protest organizers say in a press release. “Business owners are being forced to layoff employees while the unemployment system is failing those laid off and the economy free falls. Pennsylvanians deserve more than just endless extensions. It is not sustainable to continue the shut down as the economic and societal consequences may be irreversible.”
But overreaching oppressive government power is something that Democrats love. So they want to do everything they can to shut down any optimism on the virus response or thoughts of reopening America that would ruin their chances to bring socialism into their states by the backdoor expedient of the virus crisis.
Zeke Emanuel, a top Biden advisor, wants the lock down to last another eighteen months, “I know that’s dreadful news to hear. How are people supposed to find work if this goes on in some form for a year and a half?…We cannot return to normal until there’s a vaccine. Conferences, concerts, sporting events, religious services, dinner in a restaurant, none of that will resume until we find a vaccine…”
Notice the Biden advisor doesn’t mention a treatment that would effectively treat virus patients, only a vaccine he knows is likely over a year away. The Democrats want their new power to last at least that long and probably into the foreseeable future. But it looks like the president and the American will deny them their megalomaniacal wish.
