I’m sure that many of you who are concerned about the economy and other aspects of the pandemic have been shamed by those who want us to be on lockdown indefinitely until the threat is over. 

At the very least, you’ve been made to feel guilty by others who are posting on Facebook and Twitter that what you are thinking and doing are wrong even if they don’t direct their comments to you. 

The increased case numbers and deaths from COVID-19 are not guaranteed to be over at any point, even with a vaccine or a cure. 

You are told you don’t care about the sick and dying. You are a horrible person for caring about your lost job. You are a horrible person for being concerned about your business being ruined. You are a horrible person for protesting the lockdown. You are a horrible person for wanting the restrictions removed. 

You are not allowed to complain about losing your freedoms or your livelihood because people are dying. Are you upset that you can’t plant tomatoes in Michigan or go boating? Wow, you’d better not mention that. Just accept your government edicts and find something else to do. 

People are dying. Nothing else matters. So says the media and the their democrat governors who are trying to keep the country shut down because of fear or partisanship. Their mission is to cause mass hysteria to divide the country with fear so they are kept in a constant state of panic. 

That leads to your friends and family commenting on Facebook that “death is forever” every time you want to have any kind of meaningful conversation about the economic destruction of our country or the governors disregarding the constitution. 

There hasn’t been any time in history when people weren’t dying from one thing or another – disease, famine, wars, pandemics…but the government wants to make people seem like they have some sort of control over this situation by following social distancing orders. That leads to panicked people become enforcers of the state, lecturing others who don’t do what they feel is safe. 

While we’re all sad about the people who are sick and dying (this is a given, but you always have to preface your comments by saying this), conservatives are actually more compassionate than the liberals who are pushing the scared masses to accept their new reality. 

Conservatives are more compassionate because we care about the whole person. We care about you getting COVID-19 but we also care about your job, your business, your other health issues, your freedoms, your hometown, your mental health, your pets, and your future. 

We even care about those who don’t believe what we do because we understand their fear. 

We aren’t telling anyone how to live their lives or to come out of hiding. If you’re high risk and can afford it, stay at home as long as you like. If your job allows you to work at home, go for it. 

It’s time to take the “whole” person into consideration and not just the virus.
