If there’s one thing we learned from Super Tuesday it’s that the much-ballyhooed #Squad has absolutely no pull and no political power whatsoever.
Millenial AOC was unable to generate the “youth vote” to come out and vote for Bernie. His numbers with people under 30 were down in key states. In addition, Rep. Ayanna Pressley from Massachusetts failed to bring a win home for Bernie in her home state of Massachusetts.

But no one had a more humiliating go of it than Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, who held a rally with Bernie Sanders in her district the night before Super Tuesday, and then ended up watching her state and her district go to Joe Biden.
OUCH!

“Since getting elected to the Minnesota statehouse in 2016, Omar has been lionized by the media, and after winning her snap bid for Keith Ellison’s congressional seat in 2018, she’s been nothing short of revered. After suffering a heart attack in October of last year, Sanders relied on the endorsement of Omar and fellow socialist superstar Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, with much of the political press attributing his rebound in the polls to their support.
“Despite months of campaigning, Omar couldn’t put him over the top in the state or in her home turf. Biden beat Sanders in Hennepin County, which houses Minneapolis and Omar’s district. He also won Ramsey County, which includes the other Twin City of St. Paul, where the Monday night rally with Omar was held.” [Western Journal] [3]
This just goes to show, what happens on Twitter is not reflective of real life.
These women have massive followings and use the social media platform as an activist tool, with thousands of retweets and likes.
But when the rubber hits the road and they need to step up and make things happen, they’re duds. They have no real power – just useless “e-fame.”
