It’s getting scarier by the day. I live in Maryland, and we are getting always slammed by the minute, and as Americans, we know that everything will subside, it’s the collateral damage that people seem to be overlooking.
The death toll and illness keep growing. People keep talking about the small numbers of death, well, tell that to the families that have lost loved ones during this crisis. It’s surreal and uncertain of what we are going to hear next. I wish everyone well, and all I can say is to stay indoors with the family. There’s absolutely nothing outside to see or do.
People are selfish and think the rules apply to everyone but them. They see whole groups on Facebook questioning the legality of business closures and how they refuse to change their habits. They run all over the beaches without a care in the world, not thinking they could be a host for the virus. Let’s not forget, non-essential businesses all over the country are defying the orders and staying open.

They say to be ready when the enemy is on your doorstep. We had waited until the enemy stepped on our doorstep, opened the door, walked in, and started pilfering through all of our stuff before we even began to prepare, let alone be ready to fight.
If there is a chance that we could wipe this virus off the planet like smallpox through these measures, then, by all means, let’s do it. But if we implement all of these measures and as soon as they end the virus starts spreading again, what have we gained? If the cost of saving 2-3% of the population is ending modern society and the American standard of living, the price is too high. Doctors should not be in charge of this kind of decision.
It’s a good thing the China Flu didn’t happen during the Obama administration. It took that clown car of an administration six months before they lifted a finger in fighting the Swine Flu, which was known about in April 2009.
According to the CDC, between April and October 2009, there were 14,000,000 to 33,000,000 infections. 63,000 to 153,000 were hospitalized — 2,500 to 6,100 died. As the numbers continued to balloon, the media were clown car cheerleaders. Today, the media is siding with enemies of the United States, including Communist China, home of the ChinaFlu.

Is anyone else wondering why the shortage of tests and masks since Obama went threw two viruses pandemic you would think he would make damn sure we had a stockpile of masks and other virus prevention kits so if people want to blame our administration for not having all of these things at hand you better wonder why the Obama administration did not make sure America would have a reserve in case this would happen? Well, Trump is making sure as we go threw this that we will all be prepared for the one, and yes, this will happen again.
Some people insist it’s no big deal because most cases are mild. With a death rate of 2%, ten million infected people mean 200,000 deaths. Plus, two million who need intensive care to save them. And that’s just in the short term. It’s more like climate change than a tornado. You look out the window and don’t see anything happening, so you don’t take it seriously.
Let us hope that the “shelter in place” strategy works, that the virus dies out for lack of new hosts and gives us time to have a vaccine before the next winter flu season.
