Not Playing Anymore! MD Governor “Orders” Stay-At-Home Policy Or Face Charges And/Or $500 Fine

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan is tired of non-essential businesses not listening to him when he’s trying to keep the state safe from COVID-19 (coronavirus).

Hogan wasn’t happy learning about a coronavirus outbreak at a Maryland nursing home over the weekend that contributed to a huge increase in virus cases across the state that the governor described as “frightening.”

That is probably why he’s put his foot down and warned Marylanders that this stay-at-home policy isn’t to be played with or you could be put in jail.

Governor Hogan issues stay at home order for all Maryland residents, effective 8pm.

The Governor made the announcement outside of the State House Monday morning.

“No Maryland resident should be leaving their home unless it is for an essential job or for an essential reason such as obtaining food or medicine, seeking urgent medical attention or for other necessary purposes,” Hogan said.

“This is a deadly public health crisis,” Hogan continued. “We are no longer asking or suggesting that Marylanders stay home. We are directing them to do so.

Anyone in violation of the order could be charged with a misdemeanor and is punishable by up to a year in prison and/or a $5,000 fine. [WBFF]

Some give Hogan a bad rap but I appreciate the seriousness that he is trying to protect his citizens from the COVID-19 (coronavirus) spread.
