Video surfaces of Bloomberg asking Americans to ‘get behind’ Trump in 2017

By PoliZette Staff | February 13, 2020

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg seems to hate Trump with a fiery passion these days, as he is pretty much only throwing his hat into the 2020 Democratic presidential race to beat him. That’s why Bloomberg is undoubtedly very unhappy that a 2017 video has surfaced in which he was singing a very different tune about Trump.

While appearing on “The View” in 2017, Bloomberg urged the American people to “get behind” Trump because “the public has spoken,” according to The Daily Caller [1]. After asking Americans to give Trump a chance to lead the nation, Bloomberg said “you have to make it work,” adding that while people can protest political policies they don’t like, “in the end, the public has spoken, whether you like the results or not.”

“That’s my country. That’s my kids and grandkids,” Bloomberg said on the ABC talk show. “You have to make it work. We have an election — whoever wins, you got to get behind. He’s our president, and we need this country to be run well. I didn’t vote for him. Let’s just all hope that Donald Trump is a good president of the United States.”

Boy, have times changed!

Bloomberg is far less civil right now when it comes to Trump, and the last thing he wants Americans to do is “get behind” the president. Just a few hours ago, Bloomberg launched a below the belt attack on Trump on Twitter, showing the public that he most certainly has no interest in taking the high road in his quest to take down the president.

“Donald Trump, we know many of the same people in NY,” Bloomberg tweeted. “Behind your back they laugh at you & call you a carnival barking clown. They know you inherited a fortune & squandered it with stupid deals and incompetence. I have the record & the resources to defeat you. And I will.”

Bloomberg is just another self-centered billionaire who is hopelessly infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome. If he wants to waste his own money by taking Trump on, so be it, but he’ll find himself on the losing end of the race, just like every other career lawmaker did in 2016.
