Rudy Giuliani’s “Common Sense” Podcast: Surprisingly Good

Personal Attorney to President Donald Trump and former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani has started a podcast. The title is born of Thomas Paine’s famous revolutionary pamphlet of the same name which advocated for American independence.

The focus of the podcast thus far is on the impeachment trial of the president. The first episode [1] was on January 24, and along with episode two [2], was concerned with the illegitimate basis for Trump’s impeachment.

Episode three pivots to Viktor Shokin, the prosecutor general in Ukraine. Shokin was fired on the U.S. threat of withholding $1 billion of aid. It was sitting Vice President Joe Biden who made the threat, and of course it was Shokin who was investigating corrupt energy behemoth Burisma.

An engaging side of Giuliani is on display here. Given all the smears he’s endured since coming to the aid of his friend and client Trump, it’s easy to forget how savvy he is. Recall that Giuliani rose to power as the attorney general of New York’s Southern District, and Associate Attorney General of the United States.

What we see in the podcast is a legal mind at work. Much more than a surface treatment, Giuliani does a a deep dive into the money trail. He interviews a weary Shokin. It’s a quality podcast, worth the time. Check it out!

Next episode: the mercury poisoning attempt on Shokin’s life.

Just as CD Media has promoted the War Room: Impeachment [3]podcast, we will remind our readers of new Common Sense episodes as they become available.
