You never know what is happening inside people’s families. You look on social media and everything seems great – all the family pictures and vacation albums paint such a happy story, but sometimes underneath all of that is such evil and sickness.

That’s what appears to have happened with a border patrol agent from Florida, who murdered his entire family and then killed himself after gushing on social media over his family’s recent vacation to Disney World.

On his Facebook page, border patrol agent Ezequiel Almodovar often posted loving status updates and heart emojis directed at his wife, whom he said was his “baby.”

His final Facebook post was on February 18th, 2020. In the post, he said that he was ‘”feeling thankful” to be with his wife and sons at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

“Family time..we needed this..no school, no work, no adult bull**** just family time and enjoying life through eyes of kids..love you, baby,” he wrote.

He also described his mood as “feeling fantastic” and wrote, “New beginnings….”

Deputies on Friday said Ezequiel Almodovar, 39, fatally shot 38-year-old Marielis Soto, 16-year-old Ezequiel Almodovar and 12-year-old Gabriel Almodovar before turning the gun on himself.

Officials said the elder Ezequiel Almodovar worked for U.S. Customs and Border Protection as an officer assigned to the Orlando International Airport.

Orange County Sheriff John Mina said agency officials contacted deputies on Thursday because they hadn’t heard from Ezequiel Almodovar and through the course of the investigation, deputies learned other members of his family hadn’t been heard from in days as well.

Clearly something was terribly wrong in this family. And him saying “new beginnings” sounds like either he or his wife had done something “wrong” and they were trying to work thought it.

I’d guess things went very south and he snapped.

Almodovar’s sister, Gloria, on Friday, wrote a Facebook post defending her brother. She said that he loved his family and asked people who did not know him not to comment.

“He is the best man and father I have ever known and I wish I could have told him that so he knew how much he was loved and looked up too.” she said.

Hard to imagine him as the “best father” after he murdered his young sons who had their whole life ahead of them.

Imagine the terror those poor people felt in that house. Very sad.
