President Trump delivered the opening ceremony speech at NASCAR’s Daytona 500 after being named grand marshal by Daytona International Speedway officials. The race began at 2:30 PM in Daytona, FL, where drivers revved their engines in a long-standing American tradition.

Unlike the NFL or women’s soccer, you won’t likely see anyone taking a knee at this race or sitting during the National Anthem.

In contrast to professional sports as of late, at a NASCAR race in the great state of Florida, you can expect to see patriotic Americans, President Trump and our military standing to salute the flag, and of course… U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

The 45th President of the United States evoked the American spirit of competition, calling the quest for victory, “pure American Glory,” and thanking the military for their service. President Trump ended his speech by saying: “God bless you, God bless our military, God bless our veterans, and God bless America. Have a great race.”

The president’s daughter, Ivanka, joined in on the fun, using the hashtag #DaytonaDonald, which was trending today on Twitter.

Sitting U.S. presidents have attended the Daytona 500 in the past, but Trump is the first president to be given an honorary role in the pre-race ceremonies, and the first to make the famous announcement, “Gentlemen, start your engines.”

This whole display of American pride must make liberal elites in the media crazy, because they can’t comprehend an unapologetic view of being an American. This all started long before the “woke” generation began complaining about injustices at every corner. The newest class of social justice protesters are just part of a long line of politically correct bullying that is coming to an end of it’s extreme era. The pendulum is slowly swinging back to normalcy: people are starting to ignore the disrespectful behavior of anti-American leftists and defend those attacked by the mob and the media.

I wonder how Hollywood actor Will Ferrell, who awkwardly campaigned for Hillary Clinton in 2016, feels about the glorious day at Daytona which Americans spent with the president, who was cheered by massive crowds at the famed speedway.

The movie Talladega Nights, starring Ferrell, the former Saturday Night Live phenom, grossed $163 million worldwide at the box office in 2006.

Farrell’s character became a bit of a cult icon: “Ricky Bobby,” the intellectual fool who made it rich by becoming a race-car driver. Hollywood has no problem making money off of people they look down upon.

The irony is, conservatives can take a joke at our own expense. But something tells me Hollywood and the liberal media are squirming at the displays of love and patriotism while the tires screeched, the engines roared, and the American flags waved high at the Daytona 500, all led by President Donald J. Trump.
