VIDEO: MSNBC Host Calls The Late Kobe Bryant The N-Word On Air

By CD Media Staff | January 26, 2020

Los Angeles Lakers basketball star Kobe Bryant died on Sunday [1] after his private helicopter crashed in California. The tragedy was compounded when it was confirmed that his 13 year old daughter was also on the downed private Sikorsky S-76.

MSNBC host Alison Morris was covering the breaking news when what sounds like a racial epithet was said on air. She quickly moved to a commercial break. Watch the video:

Morris took to Twitter to defend herself by tweeting, “Earlier today, while reporting on the tragic news of Kobe Bryant’s passing, I unfortunately stuttered on air, combining the names of the Knicks and the Lakers to say “Nakers.” Please know I did not & would NEVER use a racist term. I apologize for the confusion this caused.”

Of course, you can listen for yourself and decide whether the self-proclaimed “Yalie” said “Nakers” or something else.

This isn’t the first time the network faced this sort of trouble. In 2002, during an interview with CORE national spokesman Niger Innis, MSNBC displayed a graphic identifying him as “Nigger Innis.”

Just imagine for a moment, the outrage had this “gaffe” happened on Fox News instead of MSNBC.
