Report: Meghan and Harry Turn to The Obamas for Advice on Ditching The Royals

Meghan Markel and Prince Harry are in a pickle and they’re reportedly turning to their good friends – the Obamas – for help and guidance.

Meghan wants to kick the dust off her heels and leave the Royals and their stuffy lifestyle behind and head to tinsel town with her Prince Charming.

However, it’s not that easy.

There’s a lot more to this story than just saying “we’re done,” and leaving jolly ol’ England and starting over.

So, the couple is now asking the Obamas for help – apparently, they want to emulate the Obama’s success by starting a film company, land lucrative book deals, and get paid big bucks for speaking engagements.

The Sussexes are rumored to be close friends of Barack and Michelle Obama and the Daily Mail reported they have “turned to them for help.”

Markle is believed to want to become financially independent by mimicking the blueprint for success that the Obamas have drawn up for themselves in terms of securing lucrative book deals, collecting huge payments for speaking appearances, and creating a film production company built around using their “star power.”

The problem with that ambition of independence for Harry and Meghan is that British Royals are very limited in what they are permitted to do in terms of generating income for themselves.

“This is going to be the thorniest of all the issues because they’re not supposed to be political, they’re not supposed to have political ties,” said New York Post editor Emily Smith in her Fox News interview. “As royals, they’re not supposed to accept gifts. And also there is certain work they’re not supposed to do. They’re not supposed to work for companies, they’re not supposed to do paid appearances.

“If they want to be financially independent, they’re going to have to do some of those things,” she said.

It would seem, at least from a distance, that the apolitical shackles may be the most difficult requirement for Markle in her role as a member of the Royal Family. Before the announcement of her engagement to Prince Harry in 2017, the former actress was vocal in her criticism of President Trump, calling him “misogynistic” and “divisive” in 2016. But she’s going to be surprised that her “fairytale Hollywood” life s not going to be that easy to come by.
