It appears with increasing confidence that Iranian disregard for human life and reckless misuse of military technology caused the tragic loss of the Ukrainian airliner with 176 souls on board

Israeli news resources ynet.ca is quoting Newsweek in reporting that senior Pentagon officials are now confirming that a low-altitude, short-range Tor M-1 missile fired by an Iranian battery brought down the Ukrainian airliner on the night of the Iranian missile attack on American bases in Iraq.
This confirms our speculation [1] that a catastrophic crash of an airliner in a saturated AA environment operating at the highest readiness level is highly unlikely to have been an accident. While this news is as yet unconfirmed, Pentagon sources have allegedly claimed that the Tor M-1 missile launch had been verified by satellite data.
The fact that a low-altitude short-range missile seems to be involved lends credibility to the story because such tactical systems, in contrast to more theater-level high-altitude long-range systems, are only loosely plugged into the theater-wide command and control system and possess fewer and less reliable systems for aircraft identification. These short-range systems are designed to be used only in environments in which the probability of civilian aircraft operating in the vicinity is virtually non existent.
If Iran deployed in the vicinity of the Tehran international airport an air defense system that is designed to be deployed exclusively in theaters of combat operations and if indeed the civilian aircraft was brought down by this system, Iran bears direct responsibility for 176 civilian death and is guilty of a war crime.
Furthermore, the deployment of such a system reinforces our hypothesis that Iran prepared an AA ambush for American aircraft on the night of the attack, fully expecting American retaliation and hoping to down at least one American asset gaining a massive propaganda victory.
