It was surely just a matter of time.
Now, on Thursday, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro announced that he is ending his campaign for president.
“I’ve determined that it simply isn’t our time,” Castro said in a video he posted.
Castro’s exit from the race now “leaves the Democratic primary field without a Latino candidate,” Politico [1] immediately pointed out.
“His exit comes one month before the Iowa caucuses,” the outlet also noted.
“The former San Antonio mayor had struggled to gain traction in a crowded primary field.”
