There are many-a-website to choose from to soothe the Democrats frayed nerves when it comes to realizing the so-called Blue Wave just isn’t materializing. Many will tell you if the election were held today the divide in the US Senate would remain the same at 51-49 in favor of the GOP. I can guarantee you that is simply not the case. I will get to the House soon but today I am focused on the Upper Chamber.

Let me go through the big races one at a time.

Leah Vukmir is a strong conservative voice in Wisconsin and will make the choice between herself and radical leftist Democrat Tammy Baldwin very clear. She has rocketed up in the Wisconsin race and it is now a toss-up. The latest poll from Marquette shows Baldwin’s support has eroded from a solid 55 percent to just 49 percent exposing clear weaknesses. Vukmir, a nurse and lifelong Badger State resident has seen her numbers expand from the mid thirties to 47 percent. Many say Wisconsin is a safe blue pick and I say they are going to see a nail biter in November especially with Scott Walker running for re-election as Governor. If Walker pulls through again which I expect he will also see Vukmir win the US Senate seat. R +1

In Florida, the very popular Governor Rick Scott is opening up quite a lead over the hard left incumbent Bill Nelson. The latest poll from Florida Atlantic University has Scott with a 6-point advantage. President Trump carried Florida in 2016 in large part because of Governor Scott’s popularity and that seems to be working well now too. Scott is well spoken, well travelled and well liked. Nelson has met his match in the Sunshine State. R +2

In Montana, Washington DC insiders insist that Jon Tester is going to cruise to an easy victory. I am going to my tea leaves for this one because it is tough to predict what happens in Big Sky Country. However having just been there and seeing only a smattering of signs for Tester to be found anywhere I think the man who attacked Ronnie Jackson with an infamous smear campaign will not sell well on Election Day. The latest polling shows Matt Rosendale could well prove me right. He has cut Testers once convincing 8-point lead down to a 3-point toss up range fight. I always go with the momentum and today that would be Rosendales. R+3

In Tennessee Democrats had deluded themselves into believing they could somehow steal a bright red seat but don’t kid yourself that’s not going to happen. Bob Corker, the Republican veteran is leaving the seat having fought Donald Trump in the public square and lost several times. In fact in a brand new Gravis poll Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn has jumped out to a four-point lead. Trust me when I tell you national leaders for the Democrats will not be sending money there this year. Blackburn will win here with a comfortable margin. R +4

Do you think President Trump is doing a good job?

Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota has played nice with President Trump on a couple of issues but she is among the most endangered of all Democrats. North Dakota is riding the energy renaissance boom and the lefts attacks on oil and gas industries will not play well come November. 3-term Congressman Kevin Cramer has won with ever-larger margins in the state and he now enjoys a brand new 4-point lead in the latest polling. This really is one of the easier calls if the election were held today. R +5

In Missouri Senator Claire McCaskell has been unpopular for a number of years but has benefitted from some of the most incredible luck when it comes to drawing really bad opponents. This time however it appears her luck is running out. The Show-Me States AG Josh Hawley has stepped into the fray and into the lead in the polls. I don’t think Hawley will make the fatal mistakes on the mic that destroyed his predecessors and this seat will be changing in 2019. R +6

West Virginia could represent another fertile field for Republican investment and was considered one of the best opportunities for a GOP win but right-leaning Democrat Joe Manchin is well liked and in new polls has a solid 10-point lead. That could still change or Manchin could do the right thing and join the Republican Party but for now this looks to remain with the Blue Team.

In Nevada Dean Heller is hanging on by his fingernails. The Republican is the Democrats best chance to add a red seat to the other side of the aisle. But in the latest polling Heller is clinging to a one-point lead over Jacky Rosen. This remains one of the few real toss up races in the country and right now it looks to remain with the GOP.

Arizona will remain red with Martha McSally a war veteran taking over the seat currently occupied by the weakest cry-baby in the entire Republican Party Jeff Flake. She will fly shotgun for Senator John McCain until he leaves the body for the last time.

Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan remain pipe dreams for the GOP at least for now but there is one more dark blue state that could create big problems for the left and that is Minnesota. The state is reliably left and gave us such marvels as Governor Jesse Ventura and Senator Al Franken. This time around it seems however it may be in play. In a special election Senator Tina Smith who replaced Franken when he resigned amid a sexual assault scandal is facing a strong challenge from Republican State Senator Karin Housley. The latest polls are all in the single digits and one showed Smith with a thin 4-point lead. Remember that many in Minnesota see plenty of TV from Iowa and college girls getting murdered by illegal aliens don’t boost voter support for open borders and sanctuary cities. This is still Blue Country but well worth watching.

The one last surprise on the board maybe shouldn’t be but it caught my attention nonetheless and that is New Jersey. If a Democrat winning in Alabama was shocking then a Republican unseating ethically challenged Bob Menendez would be equally so. Menendez has been the focus of nearly endless probes and currently he only holds a single digit lead over Bob Hugin a former US Marine and successful business owner. This one is still blue but worth keeping an eye on.

The bottom line today is this; despite the 24 hour a day attacks on President Donald Trump and Republicans and their supporters, the GOP is on its way to picking up several seats in the US Senate as of today. If the election were being held today Republicans would see their advantage grow by 6 seats which is very much in line with my prediction of a 4-6 seat gain by Republicans in the Senate. On the weak side the GOP could get just a 4 seat boost to 55 seats but on the high side they could claim 57 and if there is a surge for the right come Election Day in places like Minnesota and New Jersey you could see a real shocker with the right knocking on the door of a 60 seat super majority.
